How to enable access to your microphone and camera

Change your browser permissions so Mable can access your camera and microphone devices.

Mable requires access to your microphone and webcam in your therapy appointments. At the start of the Mable technology test, you will be asked to give permission to these devices. If you accidentally click 'Deny' access, this guide will show you how to change your permissions.

Allow Media Device Access In Google Chrome

On the left side of the address bar in Google Chrome you should see a small lock icon, as shown below. If you are unable to see the lock in the address bar, click here and try these steps.

If you click the lock icon, you should see some settings for the Mable website. Within the list you should be able to change the access settings for your microphone and camera. Your settings should look something similar to the one below.

Once you have changed the settings here to allow Mable to access your Microphone and Camera, you will need to refresh Google chrome.

If the above steps haven't worked for you, try the following:

Click on the menu button4312166in the top right of Google Chrome, and select 'Settings' from the menu.

On the settings page select 'Privacy and security' from the menu on the left.

On the Privacy and Security page select 'Site Settings' from the list of options.

Scroll down to where it says 'Permissions' and you should see a 'Camera' and 'Microphone' option. Click on each of these options to enter their settings.

Within the Camera and Microphone settings, you will have a list of websites that are not allowed to access your device, and website's that are allowed to use your device. If the Mable app is in this list of website that are not allowed to access , click the bin button on the right hand side to remove it.

Once you have done this, refresh Google Chrome.

Allow Media Device Access On An IPad

On the left side of the address bar in Safari you should see a small aA icon, as shown below. If you are unable to see the lock in the address bar, click here and try these steps.

This should bring up a menu. Select Website Settings from the menu.

Within the website settings window, you should see a Camera and Microphone option. Click on both of these and make sure they are set to Allow. Once have done that, refresh Safari.

If the above steps haven't worked for you, try the following:

Press the home button on your IPad and open the Settings app. Within the settings app, click on Safari in the menu.

Inside the Safari settings, there should be a Camera and Microphone option.

Click on both of these and make sure they are set to Allow.

Once you have changed them both to Allow, navigate back the Safari app and refresh the page.
