How long will my child need speech and language therapy for?

This is different for every child, it depends on your child's age and needs

Your child’s therapist will have a clearer idea of this after assessment, it varies greatly from one child to another. An average starting point would be therapy once a week for around 9 weeks, obviously this can change depending on the difficulty and severity of your child’s communication needs, as well as their age and the work conducted outside of therapy sessions.

The therapist will give their recommendation of the amount of sessions after the initial assessment, but can work within your budget and in some circumstances may recommend further sessions after the initial block is completed.
