Improving Your Internet Speeds

Mable requires a fairly stable internet connection for the full experience, there are a few things you can do to help things move more quickly.

Other People On Your Internet

When you're in your Mable Therapy Sessions, make sure anyone else that is connected to your internet are not using streaming services, or gaming online. Online gaming and streaming services such as Netflix, NowTV, BBC IPlayer etc. can use up a lot of your available bandwidth and therefore affect your internet speeds.

Try a Wired Connection

If your computer has an ethernet/network plug socket try plugging your computer directly into your router, or ethernet/network plug socket if you have them.

The Best Place To Put Your Router

The positioning of your router will not improve your internet speeds but can impact on how stable your WIFI connection is. Try and ensure the following;

  • Move your device as close to the router as possible.
  • Make sure your router is not near any electronic appliances, or large metal surfaces - microwaves, in particular, can interfere with your WIFI signal.
  • Avoid thick walls - if there are walls in-between you and your router, the walls will absorb some of your wireless signals. If you are unable to move into the same room as your router, ensure all doors are open to try and increase your WIFI signal strength.
  • If your router has antennae, try experimenting with different antennae positions.

Testing Your Internet Speeds

After making any changes to your setup we recommend running a speed test using any online free speed test tool, to see if your internet connection has improved.

If you have tried these tips and your internet speeds are still not very good, you should contact your internet service provider.

If your computer has an ethernet/network plug socket try plugging your computer directly into your router, or ethernet/network plug socket if you have them.
