Improving Your Internet Speeds

Mable requires a stable internet connection for the best experience. The tips below may help improve your connection quality during sessions.

Reduce Other Internet Usage

While using Mable, try to limit other high-bandwidth activities on your network, such as video streaming, online gaming or large downloads.

Services such as Netflix, BBC iPlayer, YouTube, and online games can reduce the bandwidth available for your session and affect call quality.

Try a Wired Connection

If your device has an ethernet port, connect it directly to your router using an ethernet cable where possible.

A wired connection is usually more stable than Wi-Fi and can improve audio and video quality during sessions.

Improve Your Wi-Fi Signal

The position of your router can affect the stability of your wireless connection.

Try the following:

    • Move as close to the router as possible
    • Keep the router away from large metal objects and electronic appliances, especially microwaves
    • Reduce obstructions such as thick walls between your device and the router
    • If possible, keep doors open between rooms to improve signal strength
    • If your router has external antennas, try adjusting their position

Test Your Internet Speed

After making changes, run an online speed test to check whether your connection has improved.
