Testing Your Setup Using Our Technology Test

We have an automated "tech test" that will make sure all your kit is ready to go :)

To test your headphones, microphone, and webcam - we have our Technology Test that you can use. The Mable Tech Test can be accessed by signing into your Mable account and selecting the ‘Technology Test’ from the main menu on the left. Alternatively, if you have not yet signed up for Mable, you can access the Tech Test via https://app.mable.co.uk/#/tech-test. Use the purple arrows to navigate through the steps in the tech test.

Microphone
The first step should have a list of the available microphones for your computer. The microphone which has a purple circle to the left of it indicates which one is selected. Underneath the list of microphones is an ‘input level’ indicator, which will move up and down when you make a noise into the microphone. If you’re unsure of the name of your microphone, the best way to check is by going through each device in the list, selecting the device, while gently tapping the microphone. If the selected microphone is the correct device, the input level indicator at the bottom of the page should move up and down with each tap on the microphone.

Headphone/Speakers
This step will allow you to test your headphones or speakers. Some music will be playing on this step, which you should be able to hear through your headphones or speakers.

Webcam
The camera step will allow you to select a webcam and test that it is working. On the left should be a list of available web camera devices and on the right should be a small square showing the view of the camera. Select the desired web camera from the list, ensuring the view of the camera is clear in the small square.

Network Scan
The network scan step will test if our video call services will work in a Mable Session. This will make sure that the required websites ( noted in the Mable IT Guide), have been unblocked. If you have not already done so, please send your IT department the Mable IT Guide, for them to unblock the required services - https://mabletherapy.com/mable-it-guide/.

Speed Test
The final step in the tech test is an internet connection speed test. This is just to make sure your internet speeds will be sufficient enough for a Mable Session to take place. We recommend a minimum of at least 4mbps download and 1.5mbps upload speeds for you to have a session. Ideally, speeds of more than 8mbps download and more than 4mbps upload will help to ensure the best video quality in your Mable sessions.
