We have a TA trained in Speech & Language, how is Mable different?

A trained TA is not a Speech & Language Therapist, out therapists all have a degree or masters in the subject and in fact "Speech & Language Therapist" is a protected term that only fully qualified therapists should use.

Targeted Speech and Language interventions for small groups can be useful for children with delayed language and difficulties with vocabulary. However, where pupils are failing to make progress as a result of their speech and language difficulties, it is necessary for them to be assessed and treated by a Speech and Language therapist who has specialist training in this area.

Mable therapists are Band 6 with further training in specialist areas, meaning that they can accurately identify the specific needs of children with Speech and Language needs. Sometimes pupils may present with behavioural difficulty or a pervasive literacy difficulty which is a result of an underlying problem with language.

At Mable, we have a Hearing Specialist, SEMH Specialist, Autism Specialist, Stammering Specialist and more who can provide intensive therapy that is tailored around the pupils' specific needs.
