We have a TA trained in Speech & Language, how is Mable different?
Our therapists all have a degree or masters in the subject, and a Speech & Language Therapist is a protected term that only fully qualified therapists should use.
Targeted Speech and Language interventions for small groups can be useful for children with delayed language and difficulties with vocabulary. However, where pupils are failing to make progress as a result of their speech and language difficulties, it is necessary for them to be assessed and treated by a Speech and Language Therapist who has specialist training in this area.
Mable therapists are all registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. Mable Speech Therapists are hired at NHS Band 6+, and have training in specialist areas, meaning that they can accurately identify the specific needs of children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs.
Sometimes pupils may present with behavioural difficulty or a pervasive literacy difficulty which is a result of an underlying problem with language.
