What You Need For a Mable Session

The basics you will need for a successful Mable session.

Headphones/Speakers

We recommend using headphones as opposed to speakers, to minimise microphone feedback, and to ensure the therapist can be heard clearly. Any sort of headphones will do the job. Go to this page if you need help setting up your headphones/ speakers. 

Microphone

Most laptops will have a microphone already built-in, if not, you can use a plugin webcam that has a microphone, or you can use a separate plugin microphone.

Webcam

This can be a camera built into your computer or one that you plug into your computer. Go to this page if you need help setting up your webcam. 

Internet Connection

We recommend a minimum of at least 4mbps download and 1.5mbps upload speeds for you to have a Mable session. Ideally, speeds of more than 8mbps download and more than 4mbps upload. This will help to ensure the best video and audio quality in your Mable sessions. Go to this page if you need some help improving your internet speeds.

Web Browser

If you will be using a computer for your Mable sessions, you will need to use Google Chrome as your website browser. You can download this here:  https://www.google.co.uk/chrome/.

If you will be using an IPad for your Mable sessions, you will need to use the Safari browser. This will already be installed on your IPad.

Unblock A Few Websites

If you are accessing Mable from within a school, we also will need a few websites to be unblocked for our sessions to work. Please send: https://mabletherapy.com/mable-it-guide/ to your IT department. This is a detailed list of all websites that need to be unblocked.

Complete Our Mable Technology Test

You can use the Mable Technology Test to check your equipment, your internet speeds, and see if the required websites have been unblocked. You must complete a Technology Test before your first Mable Session. Go to this page to try the Mable technology test.
